| Kaminsky, Crushers fall to Gateway in series final |
A fifth inning homer from Gateway catcher Landon Hernandez snapped a 1-1 tie on Sunday evening at All Pro Freight Stadium. From there, the Grizzlies went on to take the rubber match in the three game series with the Lake Erie Crushers, 6-1.
Lake Erie (1-2) out hit the Grizzlies (2-1) for the third night in a row, but the Crushers stranded eight base runners on the night, and could only push one run across.
The Grizzlies plated the first run of the game in the top of the first inning on a two-out run scoring double from Jet Butler. The Crushers tied the game in the home half of the third. Max Casper and Kevin Berard stroked back-to-back one out singles before Casper came home on a wild pitch to plate Lake Erie’s lone run.
Gateway had two on with two out in the fifth inning when Hernandez hit the first home run of the series, a three-run shot to left, to snap a 1-1 tie and gave the Grizzlies the lead again... |

| Despite Eldemire's bat, Crushers drop '13 opener |
The Lake Erie Crushers had twice as many hits as the Gateway Grizzlies in their 2013 opener at All Pro Freight Stadium on Friday night, but the Grizzlies used a few timely hits to come away with a 3-2 victory.
Pitching dominated the entire contest, as the two starting pitchers ultimately stole the show, especially in the early stages of the game.
